Lóndrangar Basalt Cliffs
Snæfellsnes Peninsula, West Iceland
nature
A pair of dramatic basalt sea stacks rising directly from the Atlantic Ocean, formed from the remains of an ancient volcanic crater. The two towering rock formations (75 and 61 meters high) stand like natural “castles” on the rugged coastline, shaped over thousands of years by erosion from wind and waves. Located within Snæfellsjökull National Park, the area offers stunning coastal views, rich birdlife, and a raw, untouched atmosphere.
